Man’s Best Friend. A loyal and constant companion from days of old. There really is no love like that from a dog. From the puppy eyes to their playful natures, they are smart beings that can be trained into formidable forces for security and play.
Choose your breed according to your long-term needs. Remember the dog you are choosing will be reliant on you for the next 12-15 years. It is important that you give it the right environment. Large dogs require a daily long walk, a large garden and if a working dog, ie German shepherds, retrievers for example they need more activity and interaction with you and your family. Your home garden and working hours determine this. Also ensure you have adequate funds or insurance for emergency and general veterinary care.
Research, research and discussions with other dog owners can be very helpful if a first-time dog owner.
Make sure you understand the responsibilities of owning a pet.
